Legs stuck in crib slats

So my male child is all over the place... he sticks his fat niggling legs through the slats of his crib and gets stuck!!! He screams bloody murder... information technology's driving me insane considering I'm scared to lay him down at night. I want to get the breathable bumpers simply am curious if they will even help prevent this?

I would never put whatever kind of bumpers in the crib. the major wellness organizations agree that bumpers beingness mesh doesn't actually make them safe. my petty guy sleeps in a sleep sack and that seems to foreclose this. the only times he'south ever gotten a leg through the slats is if I've put him in the crib without the sleep sack.

Slumber sack helps with legs getting stuck. I was considering crib bumpers not just for stuck legs but too forbid her bumping her caput on crib sides during the night

He will larn fairly quickly not to do it or how to get information technology out himself.

With my oldest I used mesh bumpers and he tried to use it as a stride to crawl out of the crib. He was under 8 months one-time I luckily walked in simply as he was putting his foot over the top. They got pulled right and so and I never used them over again and won't with this baby.

We tried my daughter in her crib without the bumpers at first, just after 6 days, she got her leg stuck. Then, we put up the bumpers, and it hasn't happened since.

I wasn't gonna keep risking her injuring herself getting stuck. That'southward style more of a risk than them suffocating on the bumpers to the crib.

@ImperfectButterfly95,

Aforementioned thing happened with my girl.. and her leg was blood-red and sore I felt so bad

i got the mesh bumper, and I was surprised that they all the same had a cushion feel to it but still very breathable. My baby is all over the place in the heart of the night so this was a lifesaver.

My friend'southward sis actually bankrupt her leg equally a babe getting it stuck in the crib slats. Not trying to worry you every bit I know this is probably a one in a million freak accident merely information technology happened. Nosotros use the mesh bumper and information technology works well.

We've always had the mesh bumpers and LO nevertheless gets her leg stuck and puts her arm over top or wiggles her arm nether the bumper, she sleeps in a sleep sack by the way. She manages to get herself stuck adequately often, and is a topsy turvy sleeper herself. Depends on how your LO sleeps. I rather the mesh bumpers so at least she doesn't get jammed in the corner. I have the monitor on all night and I check on her fairly often.

@kechaverry,

This was a daytime nap that I had forgotten to put her in the sleep sack

This was happening to our 7 calendar month boy about two months ago. He would inch is way towards the slats and get stuck when he tried to flip dorsum over. Nosotros spoke to her pediatrician about the breathable bumpers and she was very against them. Even so, after the fifth episode of him getting stuck on his belly, we got them. They are extremely breathable and fit very tightly across the slats of the crib. They worked for us. Go with with your gut mama!

Thanks for anybody's input!

We put in a mesh bumper around 3 months old for this reason and it worked until recently. Her legs are now long enough to get over the bumper. We've had to go "rescue" her a few times over the terminal couple of weeks.

Yup. I went and bought the mesh ones and haven't had this happen since! They are amazing ! He used to go them defenseless and scream and wake anybody up and then hard to get back to sleep.  Now he's kicking around rolling all over the place.  They piece of work!
